At the end of June, the China (Qingdao) International Sewing Equipment Fair was held as scheduled. The reporter met Xie Jiusheng, the general manager of Jining Jinxia Garment Co., Ltd., who was observing automatic down-filling machines at the Bealead stand.
“We plan to add some automatic down-filling machines,” Xie Jiusheng stated his intention outright to the reporter.
As a small and medium down coat processing and manufacturing enterprise, Jinxia has achieved great development in 10 years since it was established in 2003. Jinxia now has a total amount of employees of about 550, covers an area of about 40 mu (1 mu=666.6667 m2), including both the new and old factories, and has an annual sales amount of RMB 115 million including manufacturing output value of about RMB 20 million. At present, the Company is responsible for processing and manufacturing clothes for various famous brands, such as the UNIQLO, and its mainly business is to process and manufacture ultra-slim down jackets.
“Although Jinxia is not a big company, it is expanding every year, especially in recent years when Jinxia has been racing ahead,” said Xie Jiusheng confidently.
In order to ensure product quality, all purchase orders of Jinxia are produced independently within its own production facilities, instead of outsourcing some overburdened orders to small enterprises nearby like most clothing manufacturers of the same type. In addition, as there are some increasingly serious problems, such as the difficulty of hiring front-line workers, the high personnel turnover rate, and the year-by-year rising wages of sewers, Jinxia began its large-scale introduction of automatic equipment to replace manual work last year so as to reduce reliance on skilled sewers and improve the production efficiency.
Jinxia has been filling down completely manually, which is not only slow, but also makes the weight of the filled down inaccurate. As such, it is a time-consuming and inconvenient process with a very undesirable result. Therefore, if Jinxia would like to expand its size and improve its production efficiency and quality of clothes, it is necessary to bring in automatic down-filling equipment that can replace complete manual down-filling.
In April 2013, Xie Jiusheng made a site survey on the automatic down-filling machine market. Subsequently, he purchased eight 618B classic and 818B high performance automatic down-filling machines at once from Changshu Bealead Company. With the help of Bealead down-filling machines, down filling speed is several times faster than before (manually down filling) when they were processing down jackets. Down weight accuracy can be ensured during filling and the output and quality of down jackets are greatly improved. Under overall tough environment for garment industry, the unit price of garment processing order rose slightly instead of falling. In consideration of delivery date advancing and processing quality improvement, the customers of Jinxia can also accept the slightly rising of order price with pleasure.
Before Jinxia purchased the automatic down-filling machines, no enterprise in Jining had purchased the automation equipment of such brand and type. Many enterprises were hesitating for the automatic down-filling machines they did not know. Many local enterprises knew about the Bealead automatic down-filling machines from Xie Jiusheng after Jinxia became the pioneer in Jining. Having benefited from automatic production equipment, Xie Jiusheng will invest RMB 3 million to purchase all automatic production equipment. And it can be expected that the quantity of Bealead automatic down-filling machines will increase from 8 to 20-30. According to Xie Jiusheng, it is prepared for the production of private garment brand-Jinboyu which will be launched in the future.
